BEHIND THE CARD
STAR & KNIGHT is a Los‑Angeles‑based media company founded by Jax Slack (the Star) and Logan Taaffe (the Knight). We believe that the best work marries vision with execution. Our name comes from the symbolism of two tarot archetypes: The Star, which brings hope, renewal and a clear sense of purpose, and The Knight, which stands for action, movement and the drive to pursue goals.
Our philosophy blends vision with heart, action with purpose and a balance between ideals and execution. The Star card shines after upheaval and promises hope, renewed power and strength. For us, this means every project must have a "why.” An emotional core that speaks to audiences and moves them.
Meanwhile, knights in tarot are action‑takers. They represent movement, change and the energy required to pursue goals and dwell in the realm of courage and passion. Our Knight mindset means we don't just dream; we act, building systems, assembling teams and pushing projects forward.
Many companies lean toward either lofty concepts or pure output, but we designed our company around the tension between the Star's vision and the Knight's execution. Ideas are sharpened until they resonate, then pushed through production with focus.
We produce films, documentaries, series, and branded content that are meaningful entertainment. Even when we play in horror, comedy or science fiction, there is always a takeaway.
In a media landscape saturated with noise, we strive to be a guiding light. The Star reminds us that hope and clarity follow chaos, and the Knights remind us that progress requires action and the willingness to take risks. We channel these lessons into every project, aiming to create work that resonates long after the credits roll.

THE KNIGHT
LOGAN TAAFFE is a producer, writer, editor, and development strategist whose work sits at the intersection of story, execution, and impact. A graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design, he began his career developing unscripted and documentary projects, quickly collaborating with production companies and shaping early-stage television concepts, including editing sizzle reels for original series and emerging IP.
As his career evolved, Logan developed a hybrid skill set bridging traditional Hollywood development with modern digital storytelling. He worked as a video editor across multiple Warner Bros. YouTube channels through Vobile, gaining experience in high-volume production and audience-driven content strategy. In parallel, he wrote for the YouTube channel Wendigang, contributing long-form, narrative-driven content for a large global audience.
Alongside his digital work, Logan expanded into scripted storytelling, developing original series and writing feature films across multiple genres. He later became a development producer on an unscripted competition series based on a globally recognized IP, while also developing a scripted adaptation of another major IP, building relationships with established producers and directors.
In documentary, he is drawn to underrepresented stories and overlooked truths. Across scripted and unscripted work, his goal remains the same: To create projects that resonate, inspire curiosity, and capture the sense of wonder that first drew him to storytelling.
THE CARDS
RIGEL BLATT
RIGEL BLATT is an actor, writer, and emerging director with a lifelong passion for storytelling rooted in film. His creative journey began with a deep love for cinema, sparked by years of immersing himself in fictional worlds and developing a desire to create his own. After meeting longtime collaborator Dani on a late-night shoot early in his career, Rigel continued to pursue storytelling across multiple disciplines, building a foundation in both performance and writing.
A graduate of Loyola Marymount University, where he studied acting, Rigel has appeared in a range of short films, web series, television episodes, music videos, and commercial projects. In addition to his work in front of the camera, he has continued developing original material as a writer, and has recently expanded into directing, bringing a performance-driven perspective to his work behind the camera.
Rigel’s approach to storytelling is rooted in curiosity, collaboration, and a genuine love for the craft, with a focus on creating character-driven work that feels both immersive and authentic.
DANI KOSGER
DANI KOSGER is a multidisciplinary creative whose work spans production design, fabrication, and storytelling. She began her career in hands-on production roles, starting as an assistant camera operator before expanding into set decoration and, ultimately, specializing in the props department. With a focus on props and costume fabrication, Dani has developed a reputation for both technical skill and practical on-set experience, contributing to a range of commercial, music video, and feature film productions.
In addition to her work in physical production, Dani has cultivated a strong foundation in narrative development through her experience as a tabletop role-playing game dungeon master. This background has sharpened her instincts for character, world-building, and improvisational storytelling, which she brings into her screenwriting collaborations. Known for her adaptability and wide-ranging skill set, Dani approaches each project with creativity, precision, and a willingness to take on new challenges, making her a uniquely versatile asset across both production and development.
DANIEL DRESZER
DANIEL DRESZER is a Los Angeles–based filmmaker and entertainment professional with a background spanning film marketing, production, and digital media strategy. He has collaborated with major industry companies including Paramount (Pluto TV), Nielsen, NBCUniversal, Shotdeck, Cinespia, and Look Cinema, contributing to branding campaigns, audience development, and post-production workflows across film, television, and streaming.
Bilingual in English and Spanish, Daniel brings an international perspective shaped by production experience in Colombia, alongside a strong understanding of both creative storytelling and the business behind it. He is currently developing and packaging scripted and unscripted projects for pitch to major studios and buyers in Los Angeles.
